This policy explains how Trimmy processes personal data for the businesses that use it (salons, barbershops and studios — our customers) and the people who book with them. Trimmy is built for the European market and treats the GDPR as a first-class concern.
Who we are
Trimmy provides a booking platform for salons, barbershops and studios. For business accounts, the business is the data controller for its clients' booking data; Trimmy acts as a processor on the business's behalf. For account and billing data of business owners and staff, Trimmy is the controller.
What we collect
We collect only what's needed to run bookings and accounts:
- Booking details: name and contact details a client provides, plus the chosen business, professional, service and time.
- Account details for shop staff: name, email, role, and (optionally) an avatar and bio.
- Shop details: business name, address, phone, VAT number and (for NL) KVK number.
- Billing data processed by our payment provider (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers.
- Technical data such as language preference and essential cookies.
Why we process it
We process data to provide the service: to take and manage bookings, send confirmations and notifications, run staff dashboards, validate VAT numbers, and handle subscriptions. Where required, processing is based on contract, legitimate interest, or consent (for non-essential cookies).
Notifications
We send transactional email for bookings, cancellations, reschedules, and billing events, and push notifications to staff devices. These are rendered in the recipient's language and are part of providing the service.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can, among other rights:
- Access a copy of your data (self-service export is available).
- Request erasure of your data (self-service erasure is available).
- Rectify inaccurate data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time.
Retention
We keep booking data only as long as needed, then anonymise stale booking personal data automatically. Account and billing records are kept as long as required for legal and accounting obligations.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to run the service and remember your preferences. Non-essential cookies are only set with your consent, which you can change at any time. If our cookie or privacy policy changes materially, we ask you to re-consent.
Contact
For any privacy question or data request, contact us at privacy@trimmy.nl. If a business is the controller of your booking data, we will help route your request to them.
